ELIGIBILITY FOR NTA UGC NET
For General Category Candidates – 55% aggregate in Master’s Degree or Equivalent Degree
For ST/SC/OBC/ PWD/ Transgender Candidates - 50% aggregate in Master’s Degree
The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of the date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks for appearing in NET.
The students pursuing Master’s Degree or equivalent exam or the students who have appeared in the final year exam of their PG degree but their result is still awaited can apply for the UGC NET Exam.
However, such students will only be considered for the admission for the Award of Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor when they have passed their Master’s Degree with required percentage criteria within the 2 years of NET Result declaration date. Else, they'd be disqualified for UGC NET
NTA UGC NET Exam Pattern 2019 [Updated]
The pattern of UGC NET Exam Paper 2019 is classified between the following categories –
Scheme of Test
UGC NET Exam consists of two objective type papers. Each paper has its different standard and difficulty level which increases from first to second round.

There will be 50 questions each of two marks. As per the UGC NET Exam Pattern 2019 Exam, the candidates must attempt all the 50 questions.
The UGC NET Question Papers of Paper 2 (Opted Subject by Student) will consist of 100 compulsory MCQ (Multiple choices with a single correct answer), each of two marks.
